sohc vitara ?
ok im wanting to build my d16 for boost ill be using vitaras but my ? is can i use my stock rods? or will the comp ratio be to low thanx for all help, this will be budget built thats why im going with vitaras

I will highly recommend that you invest on a set of rods & bearings, but to answer your question. Yes you can use stock rods with vitaras, all you have to do is use the stock wrist pins. Press them out of the stock ones and press them onto the vitaras.
Your compression will be very low so you will have to run more boost and will be sluggish before spool. You can get a 80-100 horses more ~safely with a proper tune and can use a small turbo like a t25/super 60 to spool quicker. Don't cheap out on your HG and studs, also buy a proper EMS.

The weakest part of the d-series block are the rods. There is no point in going through all the work of rebuilding the block for boost just to leave the stock rods in there. The stock rods can usually hold ~220whp on a good tune.
If you do not want to replace the rods, then don't bother rebuilding the block at all. They will be the limiting factor regardless of your piston choice.
