im just about to turbo my 94 hatch. stock vx motor with about 134k. im using afc hack, 450cc's and safc. might upgrade to a walboro intank pump. running low boost.straight t3 turbo.greddy type s bov, with blockoff plate, backspools. and having a decent size front mount should i have any problems? anythings to look out for? any thing to doublecheck and do before i turbo it so i dont have any future problems. i plan on adj the timing back 3 degrees and buying 1 step colder ngks. anything else ..all the help would be much appreciated.

What do you consider low boost? In order to not have issues with timing advancing under boost with the hack, you need to run around 10psi of boost.

haha i thought i was gonna be safe by running 5.8psi. 10psi or less on the hack is safe, im sure you will be fine on 4pounds

when you say safe, you mean it will last awhile with min boost and not racing it 2/4/7

I wanted to get a motor built for my car but figured I would run it til I blow it. At 10lbs of boost it went in about 2 months of autoxing.

Those stock rods are like pencils.

You need to run around 10psi of boost on the hack (if you're using 440 or 450's). If you don't, because of the large "cut" with the afc, the stock ecu will advance the timing when you're under full boost because it thinks it's in vacuum due to the cut voltage it sees at the ecu.

If you want to run super low boost(4-5 psi), you can just run a rising rate fmu and an inline pump...that, or a greddy blue box. I have both of them sitting around if you'd like to buy them...

i know many people that have run 5 psi with afc hack and 450's, on d series no problems

I don't just make this stuff up. Do a search for archived content with search terms "hack timing."

I would use uberdata instead of the hack and def. get a walbro.

But your setup sounds okay.
