SOHC Greddy E-Manage problems. HELP!!!!
My buddy has a d16z6 in a 94 hatch with a greddy turbo kit. The ecu is throwing a code when he reaches full boost for more than a couple seconds. Then it revs irratically like a bad map sensor. The rpms fluctuate from 1000-2000. Any ideas what the problem could be? Also he has an emanage unit.

Maybe your buddy should check what code is in the ecu, then you can tell us.

i am another buddy and just found out it is code 3 (MAP SENSOR). Before the turbo was put on it ran fine. Could it be that the emanage isnt hooked up to the map and there isnt intecepting the voltage?

Possibly bad map sensor, as long as it's not overboosting about 10 or 12 psi then it shouldnt throw a cel. Check your wiring and make sure all connections are soldered.

dude. your in luck.
i have the same exact setup. kinda. GReddy kit for a D16Z6. mine was throwing the MAP sensor also. Here's the answer.
Check Valves. or a Missing Link. The check valves are a series of t-pipes and hoses (i didn't do that), and the missing link can be purchased from GReddy for under 100$.
My CEL didn't come on til i was boosting in 2nd however.

he shouldnt need check vavles or a missing link.
the emange should intercept it and the ecu should never see any fluctuation (sp?) in voltage.
i say check all your wiring. do you have the 19t or 15g kit? if you have the 19t kit the wiring daigram should be for a 96-00 civic, so the wiring will be different

I thought that the emanage intecepted the voltage too. The ecu shouldnt see a bad voltage for the map sensor. Could it just be a bad map sensor? Plus, I thought a missing link ***** **** up because the emanage changes the voltage. Does it use map voltage to determine increase in fuel or is it the tps or something.
you prolly dont have the emanage hooked up right if ur getting a man sensor code , and you dont need a missing link with this setup trust me......

yeah thats what i thought about the missing link. I checked the wiring real quick and it seems fine. I am gonna test it with a test light later on each wire to make sure.
Plus, when i turn the car on, the emanage active led light is green, then it goes to orange (or red not really sure). It stays on constant and doesnt flash. In the intructions it says if it turns red and flashes there is a trouble code and that you can check it. But when we go to check it, it doesnt show a code. NEED HELP. If the **** isnt hooked up right we could be blowing a d-series soon.
O yeah, tonight we raced a turbo talon on the expressway and spanked it
. we dropped into 3rd gear after him and had 4 car lengths by 4th gear.

What's happening with that e-Manage sounds like what happened to my GReddy blue box (SOHC kit on my '97 D16Y8)----blinking light and all. The engine would boost fine, but once I hit VTEC I'd throw a CEL 03. I was basically relegated to a 5500 rpm redline.
The MAP sensor checked out okay, and all the wiring was spot-on with no problems. It turned out to be a defective blue box, so I ended up switching to the AFC hack. It got rid of the CEL 03----I could boost to redline without a problem----but the hack setup then created some other problems of its own.
