For the T3/T04E .57trim .63 A/R Turbo's, what is the difference between the stage 3 & stage 5 wheels?

Condensation, nothing to worry about.

Well if you don't have a cat on the car theres gonna be more "smoke" but most of it should just be from the change in temp. We don't know anything about your car to say for sure.

Yeah I have heard that before but thats about it. Never any stories of a failed engine do to contamination BUT I will change the wool since it is winter and I'm not really in the mood to be "that guy" who finds out that steel wool really does mess up an engine

Do you know a way to define that better? Would one spool faster then the other, or offer a better powerband? I'm trying to ascertain whether the 5 is worth the extra $$$.......

Is it true that with traditional style IC piping you can't have AC or PS? there's a guy selling almost everything else I still need fairly cheap but he said I'd have to ditch both to use the piping...looks almost identical to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

I plan to ditch PS soon, but would like to keep my AC, even though the top can come off

i dont know whyd you have to lose them. I retained my ps and could have retained my ac but chose not too. I could maybe see ac because its on the lower side of the block but im sure you can work around it.

Punch? No.

You are right. The stage 5 wheels flow considerably more than the stage 3. The stage 5 will spool up later however and put the compressor efficiency up top in the rpm band.

A stage 5 wheel on a D will be to big unless you have some major headwork, cams, and 9K to wind it out to. Even still, the small bore of the D restricts overall flow reguardless.

If you needed to, you could just use a larger A/R turbine housing with the stage 3 wheel.

Sweet - thanks. I will go with the stage 3, I would like the broadest powerband that I can get on my quest to 250 - 300ish whp.

changing my oil today, i noticed that my powersteering rack and some of my hoses were wet. I've been venting the valve cover with the stock hose that is supposed to go into the intake, but just have it hanging underneath the pipe. I put my hand under the hose with the engine running and i got little drips of oil on my fingers and i do know the compression is bad in one cylinder and a cap of oil bumped it up....is this oil out of the hose from bad rings/ringlands or is it normal? just out of curiousity. it felt like it was pushing out a good bit of air.

Here's a question I've never seen asked. I'm redoing my tranny, let's hear what everyone has as far as tranny mods go.

This is what I'm doing.

EX tranny
OBX LSD
1.762 2nd Gear
1.033 4th Gear
.771 5th Gear

Shifting at 8K with 205/45/16 tires the 4th gear will redline at 130mph, which is where I should be trapping at with my hopeful 400whp.

how did you figure all that out.
i would like to know where a regular ex tranny will trap on the top of 4th gear, 8k with 235/60r15.
130mph traps are good enough for 10s

http://www.fatboyraceworks.com...are=1

You're gearing is on the left, mine is on the right. Stock EX with those size tires (26" diamter ) will redline at 160mph, lol. Looks like I was a bit off too, with my tires I'll max out at 126 with 8K.

A larger tire size and/or increasing the rev limit will increase the mph at which the gears max out.

I'm curious to see just what I run with JUST the tranny mods.
