SMC Issues >>>
Need some tips or more hints.
I'm running the "OLD" SMC unit until my Hondata gets chipped ...blah...blah..blah
Here's the deal:
Colder NGK plugs regapped to .32 then to .30 (Stock was set as .35)
Set timing at 8-Deg BTDC
RC-440's Saturated
"lump" = Studder
Started running car at "stock" settings ... supposedly at the 2-O'clock position = -35%
Car has a "lumpy" idle (timing gun shows the 8-Deg "mark" bouncing around), but if I make it richer at the range of 10 to 11-O'clock position, it idles great, but smells like too much gas (but the 8-deg is no longer bouncing around).
Also around 2.5K and then 3.5K there is a noticeable "lump". I tried to lean then richen back and forth (only a tiny bit) but obviously "lump" is more noticeable throughout the powerband.
Here's the kicker if I make my 2.5K to 4K dial settings around the 10 to 11-O'clock position (which is way rich), the lump is gone, but it now re-appears at the 4K dial range?
Checked plugs today they were signs of running too rich obviously.
One more thing I noticed, If I keep my 2K to 4K dial settings (SMC) anywhere from 12 to 2 O'clock position, and keep my foot on gas around 2.5K, the RPM needle fluctuates fast back and forth until I richen it way more than it should be....
Any ideas SMC users or ZIP ?
Thanks...

Re: SMC Issues >>> (Honda4CX-T)
how are you tuning this??? do you have a wide band? i hope so, since its not accurate enough to just "listen and feel". if you have a wideband, what are the readings?
