Default sleeving dilema?

I have a B16 and I recently purchased Srp pistons and Eagle rods. I have a hodata also. My problem is that I have parts to handle a decent amount of boost, but my friend told me that stock sleeves are good for only 12psi. I dont want to run any more than 14-18psi. I dont really want to sleeve it but im afraid I might have to. I dont want people castrating me for not searching because I have many times. My turbo kit is a Drag3. Is sleeving my only option? Thankyou for the replies.

no its not. i suggest sleeving if you have the money for extra security. if you dont sleeve it you could be looking at 250-400whp depending on a lot of things and a chance of cracking the sleeves also. that will limit you if you want more power in the future

sleeves are limited by horse power, not psi

thanks for the reply. I also wondered if there was anything I was missing for my set up.
Eagle rods
Srp pistons
hondata w/boost
450cc dsm injectors
ctr cams
cometic head gasket
aem cam gears

you might want to leave the ctr cams out of it. cams that make power all motor will some times be less beneficial in an fi setup because the overlap can bleed off boost. some people prefer gsr cams for turbo b-series because of their more mild profile. do a little research on this..... if anyone else would like to chime in?

That is a myth about ctr and itr cams, they actually make more power when tuned correctly than GSR cams. IF your goals are around 250-450 u should be straight with stock sleeves since I'm sure you will not be running high boost all the time. Just make sure you get a good tune and everything should be straight.
