Well, pretty much blockguards do nothing and sleeves are good for over 600 hp. that is the main difference. A blockguard is good if it is anywhere from free to $30. other then that I wouldnt waste money on one. Blockguards simply keep the sleeves from floating around inside the block, getting the block resleeved is something totally different.

I just heard another re-sleeved block sinking in from clubsi.com http://forums.clubsi.com/cgi-bin/ubb...ype=&number=12 ouch!

Its all a matter of personal experience or what you hear. I'm about to boost 14-16lbs on race gas on a stock motor after i get it dyno tuned again. I'll let you know which goes first.

Well, the best thing is the full metal jacket by AEBS, my next choice would be those golden eagle sleeves with the built in block guard so to speak, I think Darton has a set of sleeves like that as well. Hmm, 14-16 psi on a stock motor, I dont know if its' gonna hang. even if tuned perfectly there is a limit to what the stock pistons can take before they will melt.

I know what you mean but again some people say its fine and not. Gotta find out for myself, doesn't hurt to try i suppose. Im ready in any case I have a b16 laying around for backup. If it will save me from a $3000 build up for the expense of a $200 bottom end, why not.

My opinion...You should tune the **** outta your setup @ ~ 15PSI and wait for things to break...once you have Detonation under Control...you can swap out your spare bottom end and send the fucked one to Golden Eagle and get their Sleeves and Drop in Pistons and Turn the Boost Up...It's all about tuning...You don't wanna drop in a $3000 Bottom end and Melt that ****** because you can't tune. Tune your car, get it maxed out ona Stock motor, then swap in that built motor and have fun, worry-free. MHO, and my personal plan.
