True story, but then again broke and 400whp really shouldnt be mixed.

that makes no sense man, why risk your whole motor on a "good tune"??, wtf does that mean?

sleeves aint gonna save you if you dont have a good tune,

your saying if he sleeves it? he can have a shitty tune?

terrible advice being given on HT. jesus

and to the op, if your only shooting for 400whp, you dont need a T4 turbo, nor do you need a topmount,

do this, save your money and buy a less expensive manifold and turbo, then use what ever money left over to sleeve it, that is if you are indeed worried, but 400whp is cake walk for our B series stock sleeves.

you got one thing right horrible advice given on ht sometimes, maybe you should stop giving it i think what CerealKiller meant was if you have a problem when tuning and crack a sleeve ((( witch i have seen many times with stock sleeves))) you not only just messed up a good block you now will most likely need new pistons as well now if the same problem happened to a sleeved block most likely all you would have to do is replace rings if that. it has been said many times yes it can be done but NO ITS NOT SAFE. you can not prove me wrong because as many people you can get to say they made the power with no problem i can get same amount of people that have tried it and cracked there stock sleeves trying so like i said before why put those new pistons and block on the line when you can just sleeve it and be sure you will not have a problem.

I made 500 with no sleeves and i'm fine with it. If it blows up oh well I can build another for the same money it would cost to sleeve a block.

Why waste money if the stock parts take it fine??

lol why wast the money having to build another one when you can do it right sleeve it and next time you want to spend money on the car you can now upgrade and make even more power. i never understood why people would want to wast all that money to build a motor for 500hp with out sleeving and be stuck at 500hp when if you just do it right and sleeve it you can always raise your goal later and upgrade to make even more power.

I was referring to all the guys saying that you don't need to sleeve a block, because as long as you have a good tune the stock sleeves will hold. Many know that there are a lot of tuners, but only a hand full of great ones. and ....

You just made money on selling em that shifter too, ship it out and start a sleeve fund.

sleeves are nice.. and expensive

Im at well over 400hp on a 81mm stock sleeve gsr

I run 12psi - 20psi via a 60-1 .63 .70 garrett daily for 6 months now. Who gives a **** if it cracks a sleeve. The piston and rod swap was cheap and I've got my moneys worth out of it ten fold already.

Sleeves are nice and I am building a sleeved setup as we speak, but if money's tight a piston rod swapd gsr is were its at man. I'll be sure to throw some big boost to it on a race gas tune before I swap in my other engine just to see what it will actually take.

Because I like being stuck at 500whp. I don't feel the need to go higher than that. I've put a limit on the money I dump into my car. If something breaks I will fix it but other than that I'm happy with it the way it is.

Anything over 425ish whp on the street is kinda pointless anyway unless you go from a high MPH roll with liter bikes. I built my car to be a street car that would only be ran at the drag strip to find out what it did in the 1/4. Other than that I like just being fast on the street and don't plan on bringing it back to the track very often.

This is why I feel I don't need Sleeves. I will only run race gas once in a while so why waste the money when I'm really only at 430whp 99% of the time.
