Sleeved Blocks
Benson uses a custom sleeve made for him by Darton. I've never had a problem with his sleeves.
Has dan hired some new people out there? Last time I talked to him, about a year ago, he had like no one working there. His turn around was horrible, like 6-8 months, but worth the wait.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't GE make AEBS sleeves?
have a f22-b1 that I just had done at darton, it cost 1100.00, this included, install, boring and honing and the shipping. kit 499.00, install 450.00, honing/ boring 100.00, the rest shipping!

Dang thats a grip of money.
).........not to mention Darton has a VERY good quality product. Money well spent.
RS sleeved blocks are only $880 with us and a handful of PRO racers are using them. that's why I see $1050 is a bit too much to spend on a sleeved block.
Not saying Darton isnt good, just sayinig that for almost $200 less you can get a similar performing sleeved block... Im sure JOJO, Bisi, Laskey are all happy with their RS sleeves.

Yeah, but on a dedicated race engine you don't really worry about your sleeves wobbling too much. After all they don't run long enough to see conditions like that, do they? I bet on a street application pushing 12psi all day would cause those RS sleeves to wobble like a rubber *****.

Can anyone comment on this?

While RS does build alot of race blocks for dedicated Race applications. majority of these sleeved blocks are going into street cars. I personally know of a handful of cars running RS sleeves daily driven at the psi you mentioned. at 12psi all day long, Im for sure it can handle that. 12psi all day vs 40lbs on the 1/4 mile. I think the 30lbs+ is where we would think its limits are being pushed and its still holding.
Is there really people driving around at 12psi all day and everyday? I wouldnt thing you really utilize full boost on daily driving.

Well, fisrt of all ther are a few things on this thread that need to cleared up.
1. A deckplate is something that raises the height of the motor for longer stroke or better rod ratio.
2. Darton does not offer a deckplate.
3. Golden Eagle Mfg. blocks offer a semi-closed deck design that has been proven for over six years!
There are alot of companies that offer sleeved blocks, but we, Golden Eagle Mfg, always stand by our work. We have sleeved more blocks than probably ANY other sleeving house, and we do it all using CNC machines. 972 blocks last year, that is how many we sleeved. About 90% of them we street cars. Our sleeved blocks are so reliable that some of our customers have gone from a basic all-motor set-up, to a more aggresive all-motor set-up, then tried NOS and then went turbo....all on the same block!!! If you want reliability, fast turn around and an overall great experience, there is only 1 choice. Golden Eagle Mfg.
We do B-series, D-series, H-series, F-series, K-series, Nissan SR20, GM Ecotec, Ford Duratec, Subaru, Porsche 944, Toyota 2zz and are currently working with Saturn Motorsports and GM with their blocks for the new race team of 2003. Also with Mazda Speed and their drag car, the Mazda 6 of Ed Bergenholtz! Our current sponsored cars are:
Gary Gardella Racing ( Honda Civic )
Sav Leone Racing ( Honda Civic )
Lisa Kubo Racing ( Saturn Ion )
Bergenholtz Racing ( Mazda 6 and the OG CRX! )
JJ Olsen Racing ( PFI )
Silvers Racing ( All-Motor Tube Frame )
Jason Hunt ( an east coast street car CRX that does 9.80!!! )
and a few others to be named!

Golden Eagle Mfg. turn around times are 10 - 15 working days and full builds are an additional 10 - 15 working days depending on availability of parts for the build and also customer special requests. We also are now accepting a rush charge for blocks done in five days or less for sleeving ONLY for an additional cost of $100. An appointment is REQUIRED!
For the money, quality and warrenty you cannot beat the GE sleeves. It shouldnt even be question to go with the Darton's. If anyone thinks that they need Darton sleeves because of strength over the Golden eagle's they are dead wrong. There are pro racer's using the GE blocks, making insane numbers that 99% of us on here will never see. I am on my 3rd GE block (sold first one, about to install my 2nd one, and just send a 3rd to for 86mm all motor build up) and probably will send more for friends in the future.
yea, anyone else using rs sleeves?
I've heard lately from several people that their GE sleeves are sinking, is that true? I'll be dammed if i spend 1g on sleeving a block for it to sink and **** my motor up.
