Re: ''simply BLACK''
alrite, so today was retune day....
went pretty well. it was only 50° out, so i had all kinds of traction problems. 50° and falken 512s are a bad combination. so after him bolting down the front end with what he calls his drag bar, we got most of the traction loss settle. the dip higher up was from slightly spinning
all in all, good day. heres a breakdown:
57trim / oem b16a cams/ oem throttle body
tga 6157 turbo / gsc n1 cams/ s2 alpha 70mm throttle body
tga 5857 turbo / catch can setup / act streetlite flywheel.
changes are a progression from tune to tune.
todays results
comparison from last three setups

yep 246 wtq.mustang dyno at 416 elevation i believe. my torque barely ever went up. i do think it would have been higher if the tires werent spinning so much

Re: ''simply BLACK''
brake job went smooth, then the last of the lines snapped above the nut. buddy brought his kit over then re flared a new fitting for me. man these lines and rbf600 fluid works really well. definitely need tires even more now.
after talkin to a few other members. i decided to make a little turbo inlet intake. i had some spare parts in the garage. with straight coupler, and a 3" 45° elbow, i came up with this.
not really worried bout sucking water up as the filter wont be submerged. it sits higher than the oilpan. so ive noticed a reduction by 13-15° from previously. IATs were 117° after a few heat cycles. havent tested anything else. waiting for a warmer day

Re: ''simply BLACK''
so for the last month or so ive been chasing down boost leaks and lookin for a exhaust leak. after doing all new vibrant gasket all around, the car remained the same. so this morning i snapped the head off a bolt on the manifold/ turbo flange. in process of takin everything off, when i get to the wastegate, i realized the valve wasnt closed. any reason why its open. it has bout quarter inch gap.
havent search still in the garage wrenching, and drilling this snapped bolt out. pics up alittle later

Re: ''simply BLACK''
yeah tell me bout. for whatever reason, i get this gap if the set screws are assembled on the valve shaft lip how (assuming) it should be. if the sets screws are on top of the lip, or on top of the shaft, the gap closes.
prolly gona be ordering a new wastegate come monday.

yep, the fire ring is still in. the gate went from stuck open with a gap. to unstuck still with a gap. honestly, i cant really argue with its service. its been in use since 09/ 2010. all my other parts on my car since then has been dwindling down aswell.
i think my aem fpr is shot aswell. after driving for a bit, the afr bounce around 15 or 16 no matter how much fuel gets added. but it fine when not so hot. **** that parts been on my car since early 2009. thought i read another member having this issue aswell

Re: ''simply BLACK''
So in conclusion when was positive pressure and full boost reached on each turbonetics turbo?
I'm looking at the tga 6157 as well but looks like the tga 5857 produces the same numbers just with more torque and a better powerband. Motor its going onto is a stock k20.

Re: ''simply BLACK''
makes sense. the smaller compressor wheel with the same exhaust wheel as the 6157, stays within the 30% diameter differential. (meaning the compressor wheel and turbine wheel sizes are a better match to one another). Plus the compressor housing for the TGA5857 was smaller (IIRC) so, yeah.. that would work.
