Silicone Intercooler Pipe???
Was just reading about this silicone intake system. Wondering if anyone knows anything about it or even had experience with it. Any and all comments, advice, and oppinions welcome! Thanks!
it is as simple as it sounds, if it doesn't leak then it will do the job. concerns would be for it to retain shape and not flex too much as engine moves and probably overall cost. aluminum will work just fine and works well with heat, you can go with better metal but you'll be paying arm/leg and for something that already works for thousands.. why reinvent the wheel
wasn't there a thread around here a while back about making custom silicone intake piping??? if you search around i'm sure you can find it...i'm almost positive it was here
ahh....i can't find it.....
i did find this tho...you could prolly come damn near to making all your charge piping with these pieces.

I had a mostly silicone setup for a while, it worked pretty well and it wont heat up like metal pipes will. Just use the 4 ply silicone, not the cheap stuff.
Definitely useable, but its possibly more expensive than just making them out of metal.

It gets expensive real quick... Other than price, there aren't any drawbacks with using silicon tubing for most of the charge connections. Well, it won't look as good as polished SS or aluminum piping either.
