Default Should I keep my 18g greddy turbo?

trying to keep this short. Im probably going to get a benson sleeved b18 with b16 head. the motor is built for boost. compression ratio is 9:1......anyways. I have a 18g greddy turbo kit that was on my old motor. Should I get this 18g rebuilt or are they junk? I would like to make atleast 350 hp (conservative) but would really like to push for 450 or 500. what would be a good turbo. this car will be driven often. any input would be nice. thanx

That turbo kit isn't any good for that motor setup. You need a bigger turbo.

like what turbo? I've got the greddy exhaust manifold and down pipe. could I use that on other turbos? that would be nice if I could. (haha may be a dumb question, but this is my first turbo car)

You're going to need all new gear to really put down the power.

I wouldn't say that completely. You can use the GT3071 and GT3076R in their internal configuations (that have better wastegate actuators, flapper doors, and ported openings.) there are also those that can take those same turbochargers and upgrade them with larger internals. They cost almost as much as a newer unit, BUT, now you can specify the purpose of the turbo kit without worrying about whether or not everything can integrate together like it did before. There would be no need for any additional parts such as restrictors, water fittings, feed and return lines, etc. So that's the good news.

I would still improve the downpipe design by going custom (it uses a 5 bolt T25 turbine flange config) by eliminating the downpipe "adapter", and going with a much better custom 3" downpipe, or even a 2.5" conical to 3" downpipe.. So I wouldn't "eliminate" everything to get 350whp + I think its very possible.

In its current form, no, it will be tough for the 350whp If you changed the internals of the turbocharger, or upgraded the turbocharger, Yes. It's been done before as well.

let me know of questions, as this is a Mitsubishi / Garrett Hybrid combination that has some good configurations available.

well either way I have to buy a different one or get this rebuilt. and 350hp range is a low number. ( im kinda greedy. but 350hp would be nice in my 86 civic that weighs about nothing.)............
I came across this "T70 compressor with t3 flange exhaust 3.5 v band non gated turbo"....would that be a good idea? I can get it for $250
