Shifting under boost ?s
Are you guys getting much resistance during shifts at red line under boost? I feel like I have to force it into gear. When I press the clutch pedal in and start to shift, if I wait a second then there is no resistance and it goes in smoothly, else it feels like I am being too rough on the tranny. It takes some effort to put it into gear if I try to shift real fast and I feel like I am forcing it faster than it wants to go, kinda worries me. Is this typical of boosted Hondas? I'm using Honda MTF, Skunk2 SS, and ES Shifter bushings. Normal driving, shifts are smooth and easy, its only when I shift fast and under boost that its tough to get it into gear... Do you guys push through the resistance, have no resistance, or wait a moment until you can shift into gear without hitting resistance?

Re: Shifting under boost ?s (mskibbz-T)
I had problems with my tranny at high rev shifting.(8200-8500) I had just rebuilt third gear and it would give me problems all the time, even the reverse gear stopped working. when i started running a ls motor i started shifting at 7500 and the gears all worked fine...except reverse was still screwed.then i had some high speed run ins w/ a z06 on the highway, and when i stopped at a gas station to get gas my reverse gear started magically working again..my tranny is working better than it ever has....i'm sure my story doesn't help..lol

I have an Action Clutch Stage 2MD with about 10k on it. When that went in, it replaced the OEM clutch. My tranny has about 60k miles on it now, I bought the car used with 25k on it at the time. Thanks for the help!

My clutch doesn't slip very much at all, typical wear and tear on a 6 puck for a daily driver after about 10k I would think. I have grinded gears every once in awhile when I got the car 2-3 years ago, because I wasn't very good with a stick at the time. I just don't know if this is typical of boosted Hondas or not, I've never driven another boosted Honda so I have nothing to compare it to. Should I be able to move the shifter into gear as easily as say a stock Accord at red line? I'm going to try to loosen my shift linkage a little bit, I might have overtightened it when I put in the ES bushings, hopefully that'll make it easier to shift hard.
