sc63 vs sc61
did a search and there's no direct comparison of the two.
at what point (engine size, psi) does the sc63 become a better choice? what about the "large" (t04s) sc61?
FYI i'll be running an h22a @ 15psi
any clues as to when ill be seeing max boost on these three turbos (yes yes i know there's a million factors, but im thinking a rough rough estimate here).

I did a back to back S housing 61 to an E housing 63 on allens car. The 63 made like 25 more whp if i remember right. It didn't really spool any slower either??

so you went from the t04s sc61 to the t04e sc 63? can you give me the setup of each and more spool info (start + full boost)?
for those of you who suggest the sc61 - any opinions on the t04e vs the t04s?

Re: sc63 vs sc61
on the sc61 is there any real differance between the E and S housings?? I want the S because it looks tougher, but I will be running low boost (14 or less) and dont want to sacrifice any performance that may be lost with the bigger housing in my app. for looks?

Re: sc63 vs sc61 (nuro)
Im a fan of the E housing 61 as well. If its a street car it will make more power then u will ever need, spool up faster then any other turbo that can make that much power, and its priced very nicely as well. 63 doesn't seem worth it to me, I havn't seen any real good track #'s out of it either.

DIRep972- I saw your sig bro, whats up? no more non vtec for you? Whats your goals on the new setup?
My suggestion as well would be the SC61 with the E housing. Can't see the benifits of of SC63 in street applications.

The sc63 makes great power at low boost levels as does the sc61. I would rather run an e housing sc63 then an s housing 61.you will see a good 20-25hp difference at each boost level. the price difference is only about 50 bucks that way too. The sc63 has come down in price by the way.

The best setup for him would be a SC61 with an E housing right?? The S only flows a bit more, and isnt really worth it for his application.

Re: sc63 vs sc61 (TeStUdO)
yeah, the sc61 with an e is a better deal price wise and will spool a bit better too. the sc61 with the s spools about the same as the sc63 with the e and price is real close. for his application i would say sc61 yes.

Re: sc63 vs sc61 (MotorMatrix.com)
hmm lots of mixed answers.
motor matrix, are you sure that the sc63 spools up just as fast?? if that sthe case, AND it makes more power, why does the sc61 even exist?
edit - just saw your last post. im looking to hit max boost at the latest at 4000 rpm. what happens under that and by how much i dont care. what happens over that... well the more power the better
so is the sc61-s the way to go, or the e?

the sc61 with "E" housing is what you want.
