sc61 o sc50 on a k20a3???
i can't decide which turbo im gonna use. i already have some parts for my turbo set-up for my k20a3 (2.0l), but now i need to go for the big stuff (turbo, manifold, etc) i was planning on using a sc50 or a sc61 turbo ( 69 trim .63 a/r comp housing), but i dont know which one will spool faster. i dont know much about turbos, so i need you help. yeah yeah im a newb so be cool.
thanks
ps: i searched and didnt find anything helpful about k-series.

What are your plans for the car? how much power do you want to make? the sc50 will spool faster yes but the sc61 will have more potential if you are looking for big big power!

Re: (DroppedGSR)
well, i want the big power like everybody else. and seems like the k-series is a pretty good motor for boost. so yeah i want big power on this motor. lee was pushing down 455whp on stock sleeves only with a block guard and pistons.
at first im looking around 350-400 whp before i sleeve the block. ( im gonna use wiseco pistons and cybernation rods)
so what do you guys recommend?

yeah but your motor is a 1.6l and mne is a 2.0 l. im confused there.

Which is why I gave 100whp range of horsepower. Yours will make more towards the top end of that range, my 1.6 towards the mid low end of the range of horsepower.

Sure can. Start with low boost. Raise it when you're ready.

on a b16 with lower compression i got spool around 4.5k - 5k

shorty manifold and a 3" downpipe , is that good?

An equal length, tubular style manifold like the Lovefab SST would help it spool better.

I have a SC50 .48 exhaust for sale, I totalled my 00 ex that it was in. Only had it for about a month and a half and i bought it brand new from arturbo.
PM me if anyone is interested, i'll let it go for a good price
