S300 - Converting s200 bin to s300 >>?
Accourding to hondata help file you can convert these bins and not need a retun when upgrading to the S300.
"RomEditor V3 files may be opened from the File menu. These files are automatically converted into s300 compatible files. There are a number of differences to note from the conversion:
· V3 ROMs do not store the old and new injection size in the file. When converting you are prompted for this information.
· Launch limiter rpm and shift limiter rpm are now stored in the ROM file.
· Features used in the SManager software will be initialized to default values."
I was reading on hondata.net forms and there is a number of users having problems with this. Has anyone gotten this to work and what version of Smanager were you using.
I wanted to start playing around tuning my car, and with the all the options I need to get the S200 tunable I can upgrade to the S300 for cheaper which has everything built in.
thanks,
platinum.

I'm going through the same issue you are. I have successfully opened my s200 bin file in SManager, but I won't be getting my S300 until next week. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see how things go for you.
I emailed Hondata and presented the question to them, and they replied with "yes" the S200 bin file can be used in SManager.

Re: (Mr. Helsinki)
Wonder if what I read was from some older versions of SManager. Let me know if you get it figured out. I am alot farther out then you on testing it

hondata says it works, but they say alot of things work that dont. If this doesnt work flawlessly then it could cost $$$$$$$$

I picked up my S300 on Tuesday, and the CD rom that came with it actually has an older version of Smanager than is available from their site. I was able to open and edit my old S200 bin file, but I'm a newbie with this stuff, so it will be a while before I find out any quirks...

Can you open the bin file with the S200 software and compair with the SManager file. This should tell us if it converts correctly. I use you need to check things like timing, fuel boost cut, launch control, etc...

I just converted my current tune to an S300 calibration just to test it out. I'm going to be upgrading to the S300 at the first of the year so I'm fiddling with it now. All of the tables (low/high speed cams for fuel and ignition) have the exact same values when I compared the S200 file to the S300 converted file. Pretty much everything else transferred, i.e. rev limiter, boost cut, idle speed, blah blah blah. You need to set things up such as launch control and which map sensor you'll be using....but that takes like 5-10 minutes and is very straight forward.
