yes you must have the boost option for a turbo car. the boost option allows the stock fuel and ignition maps to be expanded to read boost.
if you are worried about the price why not look into something like crome or uberdata?

i really want to use crome but i live near st. louis and not many tuners live around here. there is one place that can tune with it but they said i need a chip burner or whatever. i already have an ecu that will work for crome or hondata. i just dont know why they would need a burner. i really dont want to spend 500 bucks for hondata.
here's a link to the H-T tuner directory. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1347699
maybe you can find someone in there that is fairly close by. i know some people that have driven up to 3 or 4 hours to get to a good tuner. not that i dislike hondata or anything but its pretty damn expensive when your on a budget. there has to be someone that could tune crome for you.

well i guess you could just buy a chip burner and take it to them to let them use it but that kinda sucks.
if you wanna tune it yourself your gonna need to download the software, get a wideband o2 sensor, the chip burner, a laptop computer and a datalogging cable or an emulator to tune on the fly.
check out pgmfi.org and read up, you might be able to figure put how to do it on your own. it seems easy enough but i still let a reputable tuner do all the work.
