Default ?'s about my setup and fuel

Ok, please understand that this is my first turbo setup and Still learning.

here is my setup-

t3 Turbo internal wastegate set at 8 PSI (I still have to figure out how to change the boost setting on internal wastegates) if anyone knows please inform me

hf manifold

adaptor plate

vafc

DSM 450cc injectors with resitor box

johnny race car 6inch intercooler

my questions are

1. How do I change the boost setting on an internal wastegate

2. Will my vafc be sufficent enogh to manage my fuel for my setup.

I've done some research and it seems to me like this will work since I'm running low boost.

I just want to make sure before I put all of this together and blow my motor

thanks for any help.

I don't see any timing management. If you are going to run the hack you need to alter your igniton timing under boost. A good way is the MDS BTM. The cheap way is to retard your base timing via the distributor. The high tech way is to burn an ecu chip to modify your timing curve. If you can do the latter, you may as well burn the chip for boost as well.

To alter boost, use a MBC. I wouldn't touch the boost levels however untill your get some timing management and some tuning under your belt.

sure, if you want to change your cam timing.
But you want to change your ignition timing, so no it won't help you

If you get a cam you should also invest in a cam gear. Remember that when you make changes to your cam timing, you have to reset your base ignition timing via the distributor.

At 8 psi on the hack take out a minimum of 4 degrees. Its gonna suck when not in boost though. Thats why the MSD BTM is cool, it retards timing a set amount for each psi of boost.

No, FMU's suck for the most part. They have their place but it is not for an application like this. The hack and timing management are good alternatives for buget minded people who have a good idea what they need to accomplish. Maybe you should work in hondata or the AEM EMS into your engine mangement solutions. Contact some local reputable shops in your area and see what you can conjure up.

I think the greedy kits are good starter kits. I don't like the FMU and blue box but it will work if you keep the stock boost levels and run premium fuel. Maybe that is your best bet. You won't be making tons of power but you have to start small and learn about turbocharging before you should be designing a fuel management solution.

search online, I found my crane trc-1 (same as a msd btm) for $60 shipped. And you find used btm for under $100.
