i'm posting here because of all the knowledgeable people on this forum.
my car sits anywhere from 3-6 months at a time and during that timeframe, there is always a large voltage drop when i try to start my car after it sits for this long. it doesn't crank all the way. so, i would have to jump the car with a portable jumper like this:

now, the questions i have are, how does it effect the hondata, other electrical components and the engine itself if i have been using it often to start the car to move it?
thank you

3-6 months is a long time to have a car sit and expect not to have some voltage drop on your battery. You should try to start it and run the gas thru at least every month, if possible. If not just disconnect the battery- it's not really a big deal to have to use the battery pack to start the car, though.

thanks for the replies.
i do expect a voltage drop after my car has been sitting for that long. but, i want to know if there are, if any, detrimental effects on electrical and mechanical components such as the fuel pump, hondata, engine etc.

Just unplug the battery...put the car in hibernation
I do this every winter, otherwise the battery goes STONE dead, and that kills em real quick.
