Im taking two weeks of in July for a Vacation...my "vacation" will be spent in the shop finishing this bastard of wasted space(maybe if I treat it badly, itll conk me on the head and tell me I dont need sleep, finish it!).
Im not even sure what it could cost to have this done...$65 an hour shop rate, Ive got around 80 hours into it so far. I take cars/engines in-trade for labor though!

that thing is so bad *** its not even funny... just one question about the cage... shouldn't the cross bar behind the seats be higher up so that the harness does not compress your spine....i am in no way dissing this work because it is super cool ,,, just questioning what i have always been told.. also because i want to put a harness bar in my sol and looking at the crazy fab work going into this one for ideas thanks

That crossbar was placed mainly for a "firewall" location. I may end up welding in another round Xbar just for the harnesses. That, and the seats that are in there will not be there when I drive the car for the first time. They are too tall, and I value my head too much to slam it on the over-head bars over every bump.

just keeping the thread alive, from July 1st to July 14th, this car will be completed Except now Im thinking about K series. If I were to get a Haasport mount kit for an EG civic, it would bolt right in...
My only tough spot is management, Im not sure what I would have to do to tune the SpeedPro to function, ie, crank triggers, etc. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Try going to K20a.org they have a lot of k-series info and I'm sure they would love to take a look at your little project
The whole site is dedicated to K series hybrids

Thanks for your feedback. I admit ignorance of the forum etiquette and would not have posted my request had I known it might elicit a "go somewhere else" response. I apologize for that When I have some pics to post, I'll start another thread for my project.

I would be very interested in how you plan to setup the rear suspension geometry. What specs are you planning to use for camber, camber gain, roll center, and anti-squat? How much scrub radius do you think will work? I'll be using an H22 in my project also and wonder if you have some ideas about spring rates. Are you planning any front suspension geometry changes to compensate for anti-dive and roll axis? I would welcome any discussion on these and other suspension parameters.

Thanks,
Dave

For the suspension, it all depends what car you're talking about. Spring rates depend upon usage and vehicle weight. There is no one correct answer.

Everything I read says, after much discussion, that anti-squat is a bad idea because it binds the pivot points.

Regarding scrub radius, I think he's using stock front uprights at the back, if so he has negative scrub radius (at least most FWD cars do.) FWIW, scrub radius at the back isn't an issue whether it's there or not.

Lastly, though I'm using an H22 in my mid-engine Mini, I too have been tempted by a K-series engine. I'm old enough to know better though, that I must finish it as is and get it on the road. Tinker, I suggest you do the same to minimize the number of variables. Get it done, drive it, then think about changing it more.

Smart Man

I would still love to see a K series in there though

lol, T-minus 3 weeks and counting until thrash time(I cannot wait). Yes I agree with you, get it running first, then move on(which I AM planning on K series swap).
As for scrub radius and suspension garble...if it works, why change it? That, and I admittingly am STUPID when it comes to designing complicated moving parts(ok, and simple). Fixed, solid things I do great with, but moving parts that hold a 2500lb car AND me off the road...I do not have the cah00nas to try that(kb58, this is why your website is in my signature...lol).
As for Camber/toe, I just made slotted upper control arm mounts that allow me to move the upper control arm in/out. Seems to work well in the garage, but not sure when Im 1.2 Gs into a corner We'll know soon enough!!!

13 orders left, 8 days left in June. Looks like my project starting date will be delayed 5 days or so, as I can only get 1 order per day out.

I totally disagree, if you call Speed-Pro and ask them waht they can do for you if they con modify your exisiting system and make a new harness for you i would go with that, IMO i do not like hondata and F.A.S.T. is a FAR superior system to Hondata.

If I sell the FAST, you can come help me wire the bitch up! As it sits w/the FAST, I only have to run the starter/alternator wires from the engine bay to the trunk. W/the Kpro...uh damn. Not only will I have to wire in an RSX cluster, but then run all the wires back to the trunk. No thanx! Oh ya, if I were to go w/Kpro(not likely), I would put the FAST on my SRT4 and really make some power
This is 22 psi, 92 octane:
