Theres an idea, because if I do a G-out, or slam the front end on the ground from a 4 ft wheelie, itd be nice to be able to keep on truckin!
By "dump", i meant lower the suspension to the bump stops. So therefore, if I G-out, I have 1" under my car. Better watch out mice and pebbles, Im out to get you!

Hmm...cant tell if youre being sarcastic or not...I dont build cages for a living(or cars), so this ones a lil rough around the edges compared to your work. Its stiff, looks decent, and thats about all I can ask

what brakes do you plan to run with this? def. going to need something decently sized to stop this beast... on a side note, planning on leaving it stock black? btw, the stance it has looks tight, good work.
Wow hadn't checked in for a while but you've really covered a lot of ground! What a fast pace!
I don't know if anyone has asked yet, any estimate on the budget going into this project?

y didnt you put the dash back in anyways? i was just thinkin, eyebrows would add to the agressive look/stance of it. how do you jack the frnot up with no front x-member? plus it is slammed.
do you lift it onto the facks with ur hands? that would be funny to see.

Cody... you're one of the hardest working people I've ever known. The car is looking sick as f*ck. I come on this thread every day hoping to see more pics. I want to come visit you some time--I'm only a couple states away--and I want to drive that damn thing.
i've been following this whole thread closely and there's one thing i don't quite understand: WHY?
are you building a drag/daily driver, or an all around fun car that also runs a killer 1320?
what brings this up you ask? mainly your wheel/tire selection. obviously you want to hook up like crazy, and even pull a wheel stand or two, but why would you run wide-*** 13s up front as well. it'll handle like ****. a mid-engine layout has way more benefits for handling than for straight line dragging. if you want to drag, that's cool, slap some big slicks on it for the track, but i think you should run some 15s or 16s on the street, maybe 275/35 rear and 245/40s up front. that way you'll be able to really enjoy the advantages of the mid-engined monster you've created.

Those 13's your thinking about using are R compounds right, so they'll only last a couple thousand miles. A friend of mine has them on a set of lenso 13s for solo 2.
BTW nice progress

My visits on here with pictures will be extremely limited over the next few weeks. I got my flanges in FINALLY(most of them), so TIG torches will be flying on them, not the car.
The car ISNT done, I just had to move it from its location to clean the shop, fit more cars in.
Still need to:
put the dash back in;
mount the gas tank and coolant lines;
wire up the Speedpro(mostly done);
add a few gussets;
make the tie-rod ends on the rear end(I have mAd TigHt JDM 4 wheel steering y0!);
paint all of the new body pieces;
bodywork;
and actually get it all to work in unison.

Because I CAN.
Have you ever driven a 300+whp FWD car? Highway speed burnouts are fun at first but get VERY frustrating when you have relatively stock Cobras blow by you. Ive had enough of this!
So, I built the Sol picture in these pages.
On the tire issue, Time is the enemy here, so Im not sure I want to go through the hassle of making 8 inch flares. Those 13" Lensos will probably get some 9.5X24.5" Slicks for the track. It will probably look like what it does now, the first time I got to drive it!

I don't know if anyone has asked yet, any estimate on the budget going into this project?
</TD></TR></TABLE>
It was fast because I was dead in the water with no flanges to make manifolds.
As for budget? Lemme tally up a total so far:
Car: $500
Turbo: $200(barter deal)
Manifold: $300(materials, no time)
tubing: $200
Axles: $450(where are they Stan?)
Kframe and front suspension: $170
$1650 so far, and most of it was bought over the summer in anticipation of this.
um...the rest of the stuff I already had.
Oh, the Lensos are part of a Labor barter, they technically arent MINE yet, but they will be

They is a low budget for such a bad a$$ car. Our budget to build one car is 5000.00. http://home.comcast.net/~usaminibaja/pics.htm
