running stock ecu
hey guys im pretty new to forced induction and was wondering if you could run a stock ecu and without the help of Hondata, Uberdata...etc???? I just purchased a drag gen 4 turbo kit and need some direction of what i can run. i plan to run 7psi all the time, and i think the kit comes with a in-tank feul pump and 440cc injectors. please let me know what i should do...
thanks guys

Re: running stock ecu (G_moneydc2)
stock ecu was designed to run 240cc injectors with no boost.
you are doubling the injectors almost and then boosting. The ecu will not recognize it at all. You need to do some research before going any further. If you try it without an fmu or uberdata etc...you will probably damage your motor and then have to fix that.

then go to a professional if you still do not understand. I am not trying to be an ******* I would just hate to see you pound the bottom out your engine out of blind-faith and ignorance! good luck.

As the poster above said. In simple terms the engine is geared for what it was set to do, from it's air intake and normal injection method. With new injectors and much more air entering the engine then the ECU has to 'know' when to dump more fuel in... etc.

Re: running stock ecu (G_moneydc2)
The complete drag kit is setup to run with the stock ECU and I believe it uses the stock injectors. It uses a rising rate FPR that raises the fuel pressure to the stock injectors as boost is increased. As long as you stay within the realm of what the drag kit is meant for you are fine with the stock ECU although getting bigger injectors and a chipped ECU running Uberdata, Neptune, Hondata, or Crome would be your best and safest route as the drag kit has no form of ignition retard.
