Running To lean . . . . . Why?
I"ll make this as short as possible . . . . a few weeks ago we took my stock d16z6 motor out that had 145k on it, and I slapped in a fresh y8 block that had like 30k on it, but I still kept my z6 head. Before we pulled the motor everything was good . . . at WOT I was running rich, and while cruising I would run stoich . . . .
Now that we got my car running with the y8 block I was watching the gauge lastnight (I know it's not 100% accurate) and it was barely reading Lean. I got DSM 450's still in my car as I will be boosting as soon as I get this LEAN problem fixed. At -34 on my vafc I use to run stoich, but now it runs way wicked lean.
If I add fuel and take it down to -22 I can sort of get it into the orange, but what could be causing my car to lean out so bad? After we start it and let it sit for a bit it just eventually dies out like it's not getting enough fuel, but why would this all of a sudden just happen out of no place?
Any and all help is welcome . . . I would like to get bosoted tonight! I got everything ready for boost . . . I just need to isntall my turbo manifold, and intercooler and that's all.
I do currently have the walboro 255lph just so I don't leave anything out that might factor in with the Lean problem.

IF you are, that thing is quite inaccurate just so you know, Get to a dyno asap so that you can hook up to a wideband and get a really good idea of whats going on.

I'm not really fully tuning with it, just trying to get my car to run better, and run rich actually. I just got done trying to clean my o2 sensor, checked my FPR, I reset all my settings on my vafc and re did them . . . .
I made them -34 across the board with my dsm 450's and walboro 255lph fuel pump, and now the gauge isn't even bouncing in lean . . . it's not registering for **** which really gets me. I don't want to drive my car if it's truely running that lean.
What could be the cause of this problem all of a sudden? I mean my car was sitting for a little while could the fuel filter have gone bad or not really?

You can use to get yourself into the safe regions and kinda gauge what's going on when you have nothing else to go on. One of those blinky light things saved our asses today while sampling different maps with uberdata.

will do . . . . some kid told me today to pull my plugs *duh* I totally forgot to do that . . . he said by the way things sound I am running super rich which is why my car dies after a while at idle. Another buddy of mine told me that running super rich can mess up your o2 sensor . . . . not to mention you foul up your spark plugs hella fast.
The spark plugs I have no were the ones I used in boost a couple months ago so they are still black from being boosted (rich) but the top of the L (the metal piece that sits towards the piston) on the spark plug is brown . . . he said that means I got a perfect AFR of 14:1 is that true?
Is it suppose to be brownish or . . . ? I am getting new plugs tomorrow for sure to see if he is right or not.

just messed with my car again tonight and I can't get it to run right. We pulled my o2 sensor, but left it plugged into the harness, and we plugged my friends o2 sensor in from his crx that was 1 wire and connected it to the a/f gauge, and that **** was Reading rich as **** . . . . .
usually 1.00 is rich as hell it should be like 0.90-0.93 ish on my turbo timer but it was hitting 1.00 . . . . it even was like 3.00 the a/f gauge was all over the place as it usually was but more so in the land of the rich.
I am not sure what to even think, or what all to do or what . . . . car idles a little rough. I tried taking fuel away and it didn't like that, I tried adding fuel and that helped a little. Revving my car with that other o2 sensor in did not make my car happy, it didn't like that much at all.
This is getting to be so overwhelming . . . . all I want to do is have a car that idles good again, so I can boost.
Any and all info is appreciated again
