Default RTP Q?

Can someone please tell me exactly what i will need in order to real time tune. So far ive got this:
Crome
Ostrich RTP From Moates.net
Labtop
Chipped OBD1 ECU.

What else will i need? Are there any cables that i need to get for data logging? How does it all fit together? Is there a faq section about this stuff. TIA!

Yes, you will need a datalogging cable (serial or USB) plus the drivers to go with it. All but uberdata require you to desolder J12.

I know it is going to sound harsh, but tuning with a DIY software, you will have to do some good research.

Good start: http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin...bHome

Crome forums: http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewforum.php?f=35

But to answer your question, You need to get a USB cable with a convertor. http://www.moates.com sells one with drivers and all. It is called "honda log". You can use cell phone cables, but you have to get teh drivers (simple search can find them). To datalog the a/f in the program, you will connect the 02 output to D14.

If so, do i connect this cable to my computer and the other one to the ostrich?</TD></TR></TABLE>

That is just a USB cable. You need something to convert the data from the ECU to something the laptop can read.

http://www.moates.net/hulog-ho....html

Same thing you have as a pic, but with a black case.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

You need to set up the setting in crome to diaplay the correct a/f. The wideband output is 0-5v and the narrow band output is 0-1v.

Aside from a version of Crome that supports datalogging and real time tuning, and the research you've already been told to do? No.

it does sound like you need to do some more reading before you take the life of the engine in your hands

Damn, these guys are kinda harsh!
In order to be able to tune, you will need the following
1.)Crome(no datalogging) or Cromepro, hondata, uberdata, turboedit... ect ect
2.)wide band. (tie analog output to ECU narroband wire in order to datalog)
3.)Honda Log/hulog (connects from ECU to USB/serial port)
4.)ostrich for RTP(connects from ECU to USB/Serial?)
5.)Chipped and socketed ECU
6.) Burn 1 Chip burner (Use if you don't want to leave the ostrich in the car)

Please add to the list if im missing anything.

The thing is, if (he will) have a problem, he will know how to research the problem and find the answer. The odds are it has been answered before on PGMFI.

That is all
