Default Revving to 9k?

Ok boys and gools
ive been wondering about this for the last couple days.since i cant really afford to buy a 1.8 block and build it ill just work with what i have. (b16)
hows about revving to 9k(with itr valvetrain...well at least half of it for me )
with gsr cams .
.82 a/r 60-1 should make power to 9000?
and im sure the rest of the motor can handle those revs.
any thoughts?

your building this motor up arn't you?

Just wondering. I know how you feel right now though....just waiting and waiting for the money and parts to collect so you can start boosting the bad-boy.

If properly built the motor should be fine. I say go for it!

with a proper flowing intake manifold, a .63 a/r 60-1 will flow to 9k. Hell a 50 trim E housing would

Is the bottom end stock? If so will the it be able to handle it?

I do it daily with Skunk2 springs and retainers and a 60-1 with .63 a/r.. No problem.

Go for it.

I would be skeptical about running boost up to 9000 rpm with a stock bottom end! That turbo will hold boost up to 9000 but I don't know about the stock rods. I guess it depends on how much boost you really want to run?

hey guys i always thought that REVing only helps if the cams make HP in that rang. I know that in N/A you would only rev to 9k if your cams carried the HP that far.(example: no need to rev to 9k if you LS stops making power at 6700? even if your valvetrain allows you to. RIGHT???)

yes, it is safe. it is just a question of reliability. your rod ratios are bad so it wont last as long as the ones with better rod ratio.

****, I had my built LS up to 8800 already. 9000 will come when I tune it....although its rich as hell right now.
I say go for it, just be sure to get the motor built and maybe some good ignition components like a coil.
