Default resistor box wiring?

When wiring the resistor box...I know you connect all the yellow/black wires into the resistor box, and then what do you do with the red wire coming out of the box? Do you attach all of the other ends of yellow/black or do you need to just wire it to one of them? I've seen two diagrams for the wiring, and one leaves 3 of the yellow/black wires open ended....and the other one shows all 4 of them wired to the red wire coming out of the box. What do I do...or does it even matter?

That's directions for an OBD I car...I've got OBD II. Will that make a difference? Or will it be the same?

I wired all 4 of them to the red wire on my OBD2 car. I suspect you could wire just one, but I'm no electronics wiz so I wanted to play it safe. It's worked great with the DSM 450's for 3 months now.

thanks for that info....I found that plug on my car. Now I just need to find which wire goes with which one. If anyone know's which 4 of the 8 wries go from the injectors and which 4 go to the ECU, let me know. It'll save me some time. Thanks.

use a multimeter to check which wires are running from each injector to each wire at the connector

the wire that is the same color on each injector will go to the resistor box.the rest do not need to be touched, they already go to the computer.

Ok, I'm done wiring the yellow/black wires from the injectors to the resistor box....but do I need to wire all 4 yellow/black wires going to the ECU to the one red wire coming out of the resistor box? Or do I just need to wire one of them to the red wire? This is all I need to be finished with the resistor box wiring...thanks in advance.

each injector on your motor should have two wires. all 4 injectors should have one wire that is the same color. cut the ones that are the same colors and run them individually to one of the yellow/black wires on the resistor box idividually. you should end up with 4 wires from the injectors going to the 4 wires on the injector resistor box. the fifth wire which i believe is red goes to a 12volt source that switches on with the key. the other wires on the injectors already go to the computer and do not need to be messed with. the wires that are the same color that were cut on the injector plug that were going to the computer need to be taped so they do not ground. they are no longer needed.

Ok, let me explain what I did. And please tell me if I did something wrong.

I cut all of the 4 yellow/black wires coming out of the injectors. Then I connected each one of these wires from the injector to one wire on the resistor box. Then I took the 4 other ends of the yellow/black wires and connected them all to the one red wire coming out of the resistor box.

Does that sound right?

Yeah thats right

I thought that all of the newer cars had the resistor boxes. I thought it was only the 88-91 DX engines with the Dual Point Fuel injection.

sound right to me!

Here are 3 photos of me doing my setup. I mounted the resistor box right on the manifold.
