Recomended boost on h22?
I have a 93 turboed jdm h22 hb. My motor is a 95. It has about 45 to 55 thousand miles on it. Right now I am boosting 3 psi. I am using a Vortec fmu, the new VAFC, a Walboro fuel pump, Tial wastegate and type S BOV . I am using a bolt on kit. It is a t3-t4 turbo with a 63 on one side and I beleive a 57 on the other and. Not absolutelly possative. I just bought a block gard a new head gasket to lower the compression a bit and some APR Head bolts. Everything else is stock. What do you guys recomend I should boost. I heard people runned 12 psi all day on bone stack h22, and I have also heard that dont boost more than 6 cause it will blow cause my cylinder wals are ceramic or something. Thas why I got the block gard. Any Info??? Thanks.
Sell your FMU and your VAFC and your block guard. You really don't need the gasket and studs either, but throw them on if you want to. With a Hondata and big injectors (720's) you should have no problems running 10-12 psi all day (properly tuned).
Let me know if you need anything, we can supply the hondata/ecu/base tune for you.....brian@solid-technology.com

I dont know if I really trust that hondata. There are like 3 turboed cars around here tuned using it and Im not really inpressed and somethings always messen up with it, readen codes etc. I heard the aem is really good but its really expencive. I know a couple of people runnen the fmu and vafc and there cars are runnen great. And have made lots of power on them. Thanks for the info.
In my opinion Hondata is the best thing out there for street hondas. If the peeps in your area have issues, it's because their tuner sucks or their cars are ghetto or both.
My prelude makes 379 whp on a stock motor with hondata and runs beautifully, our integra made 520 whp and ran great as well. The only car we've ever had trouble on with a hondata (note that I said car, as in only a single one) was because the setup was all wrong.
I'd reconsider hondata if I were you. We can provide you with everything you need as well as a base tune to work from...

The tuners were South Florida Performance (SFP). They are supposed to be really good. Two of the guys have turboed new si civic hb's Another guy has a turboed 99 civic si. Yaa but where are you located. I'm located like 100 miles north of Miami Florida. What else have you done besides the Hondata? Anything at all, and is it an everyday driver?
My car is totally stock motor, everything else has been upgraded. Our custom turbo kit, fuel system, 3 inch exhaust......it was a daily driver for about a year, then I got a new daily driver (my suspension on the prelude is annoyingly stiff).
We're in Albuquerque, New Mexico (so quite a ways from Miami) but if you got a couple of those crappily running Hondata cars together for tuning we can come out and do some tuning for you......
