Default Rebuilding greddy turbo

All right, i bought a greddy turbo from a local, and i think the turbo might need some rebuilding since its been sitting for 8 months. The shaft spins but its rough. But i want to go ahead and rebuild it anyway for my part. Can anyone help me out on this one? is it something i can do t home? or will i need a shop to do it. I called a performance shop here in town but they want to do it for 600. It looks like something i can do myself maybe. Let me know thnaks
