Read my plugs.
Well, I have some colder NGKs on the way and was gonna gegap these old Bosch Platinums to hold me over until they get here. I've been running my turbo for about a month or so now. Been running Uberdata for about 2 of those weeks. Stupid of me but I never bothered checking the plugs. Finally saw a thread about propper gap size for boost. So I'm going to clean these and gap them to .030. I was just curious what you guys thought of the condition of these. What do they tell you about how the motor is running? They have about 47K miles on them too.

well they look a little charred if you ask me. A couple actually look moiste like from Oil. if that's the case do a compression test tos ee what's up. if you got oil on your plugs your rings are worn and leaking oil, otherwise smell them to see if they smell like fuel.

gapped down to .030 now. That's probably the main reason I pulled them to see how the motor has been and running and to gap them properly. Like I said, I just happened to read a thread last night about boost and plug gap size.

Didn't really boost a lot. Every now and then I got on it just for a couple of seconds or so. The car pretty much just gets used on base. Rarely ever seen over 30 MPH since the turbo went in. That's what my '85 Corolla is for.

Actually I've always ran the Bosch Platinums in all my cars and never had a problem. Like I said, these have been in there for 40,000+ miles now and they never skipped a beat. They even lived through the engine getting hydrolocked one time.
Anyway, I'm not going with new Bosch plugs for the permanent setup. I have NGK BKR7E plugs on their way here. I wish it was as easy as in the states to just go down to Autozone and pick up some new plugs but it's not. Everything here has to be mail order.
Thanks for the input guys. I cleaned and regapped the Bosch plugs. Gonna put them in this morning and see how the car runs. Or if it even runs at all.
