random check engine
well every now and then i get a random check engine light that xcomes out of nowhere. i think it comes up because i may be running a lttle bit lean since i have a boost leak. and well it comes on, but it goes off as soon as i turn on the car. i can only thinkg of it running rich. thats really it. i have a obd2-obd1 p72 with hondata. any1 ever had this?
do u have an O2 sensor? if u dont, then that could be the problem. even though u may have the O2 sensor disabled in HONDATA, the ecu still looks for a signal. a quick fix if to feed like a 1 volt signal into pin D14 to trick the ecu into see n a signal

Even though the CEL is turning off when you turn off the car, it is still being stored in the ECU's memory. The only way to clear it for good is to pull the ECU fuse. Turn the ignition to "On," and jump the service connector. Your code will be there. Please do this and let us know what it is (If you dont know how to read codes or dont have a Helms, there are multiple posts on H-T that will help you out, just search), therefore we can help you out as we will have a place to start. I had the same problem on my car, it was an intermittent knock sensor code (I believe wiring), and I when I got tuned, I disabled knock and it of course went away. Just an example, could be something as simple as a bad connection or ground. Anyways, yeah get that code and well get you fixed
dollars to donuts its a code 1 [o2 content]
Im getting the same CEL running my wb02 narrowband signal to my ecu o2 input....
Seems to always throw CEL code 1 randomly while coasting in gear, doesnt effect performance at all, just that annoying light- goes away when car is turned off and then back on...

sounds like what mine will probably be. so if its code1, what can i do for it. im sure the o2 sensor is plugged in. some1 sid something about it being diabled but isnt that only for the tuning session??
Its a Hondata bug.Let me guess, that it happens on long decels.Hondata says that its fixed in the latest burner software. If you reburn the chip with the new software it will go away.I have yet to try this with my car yet so I can't promise it works.
bah, I get the same thing running Neptune. It seems to just pop up randomly for no reason, sometimes right after a hard boost pull, sometimes just driving in vaccum.
I have no O2 sensors and I've jumped the service connector, but no codes are ever present.
Hasn't done it lately, so maybe it's fixed, It doesn't bother me....seems like a bug in the program

I'm having this exact problem right now.
My injectors seem to turn back on when it happens! I get a "lean" reading on the PLX, and the car will hover at say, 3500rpm. A blip of the throttle and things seem to return to normal. The CEL does not always come on when this happens.
Do you have this problem as well????
