Quiet exhaust options. ~300whp
Hello all. I have a setup that's making 651whp currently, yet am parting it out in order to downsize and consolidate money, yet still have fun. This has led me to build my daily driver. It's a 2000 VSM si-r.
With this, I am wanting to have 300-350whp reliably (350 at the very most) but retain my ac, ps and keep it QUIET. I want to retain drive-ability on this since it will still be my daily.
I know it's not possible to have it feel completely stock of course, but I am making it a point to keep it as stock feeling as possible. (Until I get into it some of course.)
I am planning on doing:
Stock rebuild on b16 including GE headstuds.
680cc injectors, 255 pump
My existing Neptune
Clutch
And all other supporting mods. You get the picture ha.
I am also planning on going with the Go-Autoworks street kit with:
t3/t04B 54mm inducer Turbonetics t3 with .63 ar
also planning on recirculating dump tube.
What I'm torn on is exhaust choice. I want something that stays very quiet yet isn't killing me on power.
I have read good things on the Yonaka ws2 replica. (I know it's cheap)I really would like to use this since it's so quiet, but I know it may be too small for my goals at 60mm.
Another option would be to use a big resonator, a piping kit, and a muffler one of you recommend from experience.
The third option could be a 2.5" twin loop setup possibly.
I'm looking for your input from experience on quiet exhausts that will handle the power, Honda-Tech. Thank you.

you could always get a smaller exhaust and get a cut out, that way when you want to have some fun you can open the cut out and get rid of the restriction of the small exhaust.

3" exhaust from the turbo back with a good 3" resonator and 3" Magna Flow muffler has been proven to be pretty silent and still make good power. You could do this with a 2.5" but 3" will give you room to grow.

A cutout is an option for sure, but I'm not sure if I want to go that route. I have a hard time settling and will try to find a way to do it without a cutout.
I'm thinking maybe a 2.5" Kteller kit with a big resonator and muffler may be the best route.
I'm wanting people's personal experiences with specific mufflers and exhausts.
What have you used personally and how quiet was/is it?

Here. There are plenty of discussions and experiences.

Some for those that utilize that for NA as well as turbo.

A Kteller 3" exhaust with Magnaflow muffler kit, and a Dynomax bullet muffler added in place as a resonator is pretty quiet.
