Default Quicker spool up by loosening blow off valve??

I loosened up my blow off valve and I swear that my turbo spools up way, way quicker. Is this normal???

If your engine is taking in fresh air directly from the blow off valve under vaccum, instead of having to get it the long way around, it could reduce lag. I'm not saying that is definately what is happening, but it sounds like it.

Would be the opposite....loose BOV = leak...would make it difficult for pressurize air t make it to the manifold...your turbo might be spooling quicker due to less back pressure, but air that pressure will be pushed out the leak.

I have a vortech blow off valve. It definately feels like it spools up quicker but maybe lost some high end. It's like I lowered the power band. I had very little power until I hit vtec before and now it's a nice and smooth. I guess I was getting too much compressor surge??
