Default Quick D series question.

So right now I have a 95 hatch with a B16 and Im thinking about selling the B and doing a turbo D. I have very limited knowledge of the D series so my question is what is the best D series motor for boost?

check out the sohc thread further down the page. the z6 seems to be the most well liked due to being OBD1

Because you are already OBDI and wired for vtec, the z6 would be your best bet, that or a y8.

I'm rockin a jdm d15b, but I don't really know if I would call it the best. But it's obd1 so it's one of the better ones.

I had a D16Y7 bottom end with a D16Z6 head.
Apparently it's given people problems with timing. I never had an issue.
Made (and did not blow) 273whp @ 13psi with a T3/TO4E 50trim.

why take the time to pull the b-series when you could just boost it and make more power? not knockin the d-series but if you already have a motor why swap back?

he probably spent all his money on a slow stock swap and doesnt have more money so sell that and go turbo d and be way quicker than a swap at the same price.

Yea, that's what I'd recommend.

d16z6 is the way to go since u already have a 95 civic hatch.
d16y8 motors are notorious for spun rod bearings, i havent really seen alot of high hp y8's except for perlmeistere81 463hp y8 sohc.
