Questions: I'm considering a supercharger
You ppl might think Im crazy but I was considering supercharging my B18 hatch. I need some thoughts and ideas b/c my motor has alot of mods and will probably require extensive ECU tuning; however any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.
B18B in a EG Hatch
-403 Crower Cams and Valvesprings and Cam gears
-Ferrea SS Valves
-B16A Pistons
-Cometic Headgasket(.030)
-98 JDM 4-1 ITR Header
-Iceman Cold Air Intake
-Skunk2 Manifold
-Exedy Flywheel
-Clutch Specialties 6-puck clutch
-GSR tranny
-2.5" Custom Exhaust(No Cat)
-255lph Walboro Fuel Pump
-JDM H22 injectors
-B&M FPR
Is it possible to run a superchargeron this setup(Vortech or Jackson Racing); understanding cams and Head gasket will prbably have to be changed as well as extensive ECU work and Tuning!
Does anyone have any suggestions/comments?
Who can I get to tune this car to run a supercharger?

Turbo. Chilloutwayne knows a guy who had both a turbo and a supercharger, so for an unbiased answer, hit him up.

My main reason for going for a supercharger is to have low end torque for roadcourse and autocross!

Just go with a smaller turbo if your worried about low end power. You'll make more power with a turbo, no matter what.

Wrong answer. A JRSC makes nice torque off idle, dies on the top end. A Vorturd supercharger makes boost linearly with RPM's. If it's pullied for 8 pounds of boost on an 8500 RPM motor, it makes 8 pounds of boost at 8500 RPM's. On that same motor at 4000 RPM's you would be lucky to have half that much boost, but probably 2-3 psi. At that point even a medium to large turbo is going to be out-boosting the vortech, and the turbo makes more power per pound of boost because the power losses from driving the turbo are lower than the power losses to drive the blower. I had a vortech on my SI because everyone told me how great blowers are, how much low end torque they make, how you don't have to wait around for boost etc, etc, and boy were they wrong. I took my kit off after a few months, switched to turbo, and i'm never looking back.

I'll probably finish this season with my jrsc, but next year I'll be going turbo. JRSC is a great system for someone who wants to bolt it on and forget about it, but for someone who's always tinkering and trying to make more power, turbo is the way to go.
Then again, I got some awesome numbers out of my b16/jrsc, and I still kill a lot of local turbo guys. Small turbo and jrsc, with good tuning will be about equal. Large turbo + intercooling + tuning will never be beat.
