Questions about Mitsubishi 20G turbo in a Lude.
Hey everybody,
I was wondering what everyone thinks of this. I plan on getting the Greddy kit for the Prelude comes out with the 18G. I was thinking about using the 18G for smogging the car with the Greddy FMU. When I'm not smogging the car though I want to run a 20G series turbo.
my questions are:
1) what FMU should I use for the 20G? the FMU for the 18G wont work, or will it?
2) do all Mits xxG series turbos have internal WG right? if so, how much boost will the WG for the 18G handle? how about the 20G?
3) has anyone heard or of, or swapped out the Greddy FMU for a different fuel mgmt. system? I want to run a standalone or maybe Hondata, will they be able to work with the Greddy kit?
EDIT:4) here's another one I just thought of, will I need a different mount/flange for an Apex'i twin chamber BOV? I dont like the Greddy BOV's, they dont *pshh* long enough from what I've heard.

20G plus FMU???
With the kinda boost a 20G is capable of, I think you would want some other sort of fuel control besides a FMU. Something along the lines of hondata...it works with any kit.

Plus, with a stock block you can't even push the 18G to its limits.
just out of curiousity though what's the max HP the 18G can push?

Why build the block if you aren't using a standalone? Or are you planning one near in the future?

I haven't decided yet what order I'm gonna do it.
Turbo, buildup, standalone, 20G or
buildup, turbo, 20G, standalone
there are still some things I'm trying to sort out
