I hate the FMU setup personally, but it does work sometimes. WE need more info on your setup. I would just get uberdata and be done with it.. much more safe than a FMU setup.

I don't personally like the lack of flexibility of FMUs, but an adjustable unit can allow you to get by.

Its doable for low boost as long as its "tuned" with a wideband as with any fuel adjustment.

how can you "tune" a fmu?

I wouldn't run more than 7psi with the fmu just to be safe.

obviously was refering to the adjustable ones... and if its not, they have different size disc's that change the fuel pressure increase per psi of boost - if you can call that tuning - which is also why I used quotations

FMUs with adjustable rise rates, such as ones made by Car Tech, paired with a fuel controller like an Apexi AFC, can actually make for a decent setup for low boost. But it needs to be carefully set up with a wideband, like Muck said.

uberdata is too cheap to go the FMU route just think of the money you are saving on a blown motor

FMUs are fine, for basic setups running mild boosts I don't see why a FMU won't work. People ran them for years before Hondata or UD was even available and they worked great. Its obvious they aren't the best way to add fuel for boost, but you can't say they don't work.

also by tuning with the wideband

i just have to find the right disk that gives a nice air fuel ratio?

don't forget the high pressure fuel pump you'll need with the fmu...

agreed, I'm running UD myself... but UD is not for EVERYONE, you really have to understand what your are doing to actually use UD. A FMU is pretty much bolt on.

fmu is safe up to 10psi with no problems, you have to try it for yourself. They make my car so rich in boost i love it.

except you are losing so much power, it is doing nothing for your timing which could be dangerous, and your fuel rail pressure is outrageous
