Question about Studs (manifold to turbo)
So, the way i did studs on my last homemade manifold, i just took a long bolt and cut the ends off of them. it worked.
This time, on my lovefab, I was going to do the same thing. The guy at the hardware store, however, said since the manifold and the tubo are so hot, unless the stud is specifically sized, and has an unthreaded portion in the correct location, the stud will back out. why exactly is this? I'd really rather not **** around and have my turbo drop out the botom of my car
Any advice? or should i just try to squeeze some bolts and split lockwashers on there?

Re: Question about Studs (DRAGLS)
Perfect! I didn't quite understand how the unthreaded portion had anything to do at all with the stud, but whatever. thanks a lot!

Re: Question about Studs (liquidxEG)
I used the studs that came with the turbo and 2 of 4 bolts fell out after about 200 miles. I didnt notice it until too late since it was the bolts hidden out of my view from the top.
I think your screwed if you dont use lock washers and loctite. even loctite is only rated to like 600 degrees tho.
good luck.
