Default question about manifold design

ok so this manifold is for my jetta, the collector is amazing my friend did an awesome job on it and *** you can see the middle runners are done, but i'm still trying to figure out the outer runners, i have done like 4 different designs and they all will work, how import is equal lenght? as you can see in the pic the left side is about the same distance as in the 2 inner runners but the right outer one is a bit shorter, does 3-5" really matter for the outer runners? should i try to get it as close to equal lenght as possible or is have the outer runners a little shorter ok? it would make the downpipe and everything much easier if the outers were the shorter design.
thanks

i have always heard that when you are gettin a "true" equal lenth manifold that it will really help spool up your turbo, because there are kinda like burst that go threw the manifold at a syncronized time and help spool a turbo.....now that might be a load of ****, but thats what i heard

according to the turbo manifold fabrication page at sdsefi.com:

"It has been found that actual tube length seems to have little effect on response or power in street applications however, equal lengths will theoretically give slightly better response. Most of our systems have a 14 to 18 inch primary tube length and this has worked well."

i take the things said on that page in high regard. those guys know what their doing

I'd go with whatever design is lightest... that's a lot of weight to hang off a few studs. I'm loving that collector BTW.

I don't know anything about manifold theory but I have seen Cody (lovefab guy) mention that his runners are about 3.5" inches off on his manifolds (and I think even more on that new mini-me one) and he says its all good.

So take that for what its worth.
