I am helping my friend tune his RSX and were haning problems w/ the boost controller. It is a base model auto FYI.

1st gear-10.4psi
2nd gear-8.7 psi
3rd gear-6.5 psi
4th gear-5.2psi
and it spikes to about 9 psi between gears

Boost is set at 20%, gain at 100% (instructions say to increase if boost decreases through gears), warning at 12.5psi, warning cut at 10%.

The goal is to get 11psi flat through all gears w as little spike as possable. Any tips or tricks are apritiated.

Whats the vacuum source your using for the solenoid?

also, the more gain you have, the more its gonna want to spike on ya. Try messing with the gain as well.

 

Man, why did they have to make it more complicated. Why change a good thing lol. Turn the **** and your set lol.

 

what is the stock wastegate spring (how many psi). Also what size turbo is it. Ummm id say go in and check all the vacum lines that have anything to do with the controller. You also need to have the solenoid vacum lines as close as possible to the turbo. One more thing id say go and check the solenoid and make sure you have it hooked up right. One side is for external gates and the other is for internal. Hope that helps you. Ill be installing my spec 2 this weekend.

 

How do you spike between shifts? do you not let off the gas?

I checked 3 times, the lines are hooked up correct. I just need some good base settings to start with. And yes, shifting is done w/o lifting the throttle.
