Problems Adjusting SMC
Just installed the SMC-500 and am having problems adjusting it enough to just get it on the road (will take to a wideband dyno shortly). Current setup is B16A with JRSC at 9 lbs, RC 440 injectors. JR FMU and IAT relay have been removed. Relocated the IAT sensor to the JR manifold. Set the distributor timing (per the SMC instructions) to ~7 degrees BTDC. Problem is, car idles rough with lots of popping from the exhaust, and no power to speak of. Once it's warmed up at idle, it acts like it wants to quit, idling between 300-500 rpm. Sorta sounds like "blum blum blum blum".
Is anyone on here running a similar setup with the SMC? Do you think it's simply my % correction that's off? Distributor timing not advanced enough? Something else?
Idle -39%
1-1.9k -38%
2-2.9k -38%
3-3.9k -38%
4-4.9k -37%
5-5.4k -36%
Thanks!
