Some cars have a VSS/ALT fuse under the dash. I would check that first. I popped that fuse a couple years ago, and I went through 3 batteries and 2 alternators before I found it. My speedo would work intermittently and sometimes it would throw an ELD code.

how did yo test the alternator? do this easy test, while the car is running, unhook the negative on the battery, if the car dies then it is the alt or something related to it. check your grounds and alt plug also

did you check/ replace your wires?
if not do that they can corrode from the inside out
reset your ecu by pulling the fuse (prob won't work but it's worth a shot)
any one else I'm stumped
hook up a vid with sound
