Default Prepping a B18B for Turbo

I'm going shopping for a 97+ B18B (LS Motor) pretty soon...and I plan on going turbo in the future. What steps should i take to make a bulletproof block that can withstand at least 10psi before i drop the engine into the car? Thanks guys!

Tuning is all you need for 10 psi on a stock LS block....nothing more

EDIT* Sorry, make sure that you atleast run a new water, timing belt, and maybe oil pump on the motor. It all depends on mileage and how hard that motor has been ran.
Other than that, stock LS engine can run on 10 psi all year long.....

I've heard of people running 7-9 psi on stock internals and blowing their motors..
I guess that goes back to tuning again.
Anyway, I'm planning on ls turbo as well. I did a search but didn't come up with much to work with.. anyway, for an ls, what compression pistons would be ideal to boost with for boosting say between and around 10-15 psi?
I'd also appreciate it if a few ls owners with successful turbo setups would post those setups here.
TIA

I would change the water, oil pump and maybe the timing belt. You should alwasy change these when dropping in a new motor. As far as running safe for 10 psi, I would get bigger injectors such as 310 cc. As long as you have enough fuel going and and the timing is right, it should last for a lil bit. If you really want it bullet proof then you should get it resleeved! It's worth it!!! And offcourse the usually stuff such as bigger fuel pump, a fpr, etd.

youll be fine with 10psi on stock motor as long as u have the fuel.. - DONT TRY TO RUN 10PSI W/ FMU AND STOCK INJECTORS.. I would reccomend pulling out a degree or two of timing at 10psi as well..

Im getting the list of possible block upgrades up on the site soon.
Hopefully this weekend.
It will have all motor and turbo blocks, stage 1 to stage 4.
From piston upgrade to a fully sleeved block.

I hope I can answer your questions with that list and that will help guide you in the type of block you would need.

Check on it later this weekend. http://www.exospeed.com/store.htm

if youre going to build it for turbo... thats a good idea. but the stock block can handle it. just slap the kit on your car... go for it.

The thing is for this summer, ill probably make only enough money to do one or the other. Either to build the block or to get the drag3 on stock internals. I was thinking it would probably be a better idea to have the block built first because if i got the drag3, i would have to be running it on the stock block for a fairly long time because of $$ reasons.. I'm still debating though.. I could get the drag3 first and get block upgrades one by one afterwards ..
If i was aiming for 10-12psi street driven and 14-16psi at the track, would I be good with 9:1 pistons and tuning or should I go lower? Also what brand/type of springs, titanium valves and retainers are known to be reliable?
TIA
