Ls turbo

Ls turbo
I have a 95 ls integra and I wanted to turbocharge it. I wanted to know what kind of turbo kit is best for an ls engine and if I had to do any internals. I don't want to run high boost. If anyone can help please let me know.

Re: Ls turbo (IS teg)
I've seen 10psi on a b18b like yours. They run strong and nothing needs to be done. If you do run boost though I would get a deck guard to fill in that cylinder to block clearance on the top. I probably would only run like 8psi for the sake of a lasting motor but maybe with enough maintenance you can get away with 10.
I'm rebuilding my motor actually. It's an LS also just the b18a version. Going to sleeve it , get forged rods and pistons, grind the crank and get some apr bolts. then I need a new oil pump. I am going to pust 15+ though. I'm sure your stock motor can take it if its low miles. Something around 50k or less should be alright. Anything past 100k I would rebuild. Either way, the stock motor won't take a pounding forever.
What kind of budget do you have?

From what I hear custom kits make the most power. I don't know my turbo turbines but you should consider how you use your car so you can pick a turbo that spools at the right RPMs for you.

custom kits are cool because you can get all the parts that you want, and can also get better management than comes with prefabbed kits.
its not about how much psi you run, its how much power you are making, which was hinted to here

im a big wuss, so im runing around 220 whp right now on a 200k mile stock ls motor. ill turn it up to 10 psi soon and see how that fares me

Virtually any turbo will net you 240+ HP at 7-8 PSI provided you have a nice free flowing exhaust and adequate fuel/tuning.
You could piece together a kit capable of that for $2,000 no problem.

::Sigh:: if your a wus u can keep it at that
ive had 2 ls turbos (oil pump killed one n a boost spike killed the other)
the first one made 304whp at 14psi and the other made 282whp at 11psi
both motors were bone stock....also on the first one i use to run 17psi on the street. LS-T is a GREAT setup. dont be scared to up the boost

it doesnt matter....it all depends on how much cfm the turbo flows...for ex if u run a GTI turbo it doesnt flow for ****...so you could run 30psi if ur only making 250whp.....but then again 30psi on a t3/t67 will gernade a stock motor lol. it depends on the turbo
