Default 200whp from an LS

I got a B18b LS motor and im trying to decide if i should turbo it or leave it NA. I want to leave it NA becuase im afraid that a turbo wont be reliable enough for me since this is my car i get to school with. I was wondering if it was possible to get 200whp from a NA LS?

i'd think you would need to take care of a N/A LS with 200whp more than a LS turbo...

yes, it is possible but it will cost quite a bit of money i consider you turbo it...ls's go pretty good with stock boost

nitrous is awsome on ls motors, they can handle like 80 hp shot's on stock internals.

turbo @ 10psi would get you in the mid 200's.

200 N/A on a LS is going to cost you way more than it would to just run a greddy kit or something similar that will be very reliable and get you about 200hp.

if you want to stay n/a with the b18b, buy a vtec head and build up a nice ls/vtec. that will be the quickest way to 200.

Going turbo on your ls is the best bet to getting over 200hp, and I have no idea what stock boost on a car that was originally n/a means.

turbo isn't as unreliable as you think .. just don't take any shortcuts and it'll be like owning a stock integra

What do you mean "it wont be reliable enough"??
How do you drive your car? how come its not reliable enough for you??
I use to have a turbo LS/vtec on my CRX which I pass on to my lil brother and it was super reliable!! Just need a turbo timer and regular maitaince!!

I agree. A turbo kit would certainly put you over your 200hp goal.
Doing it N/A would require a Vtec head, along with higher compression.

haha yeah a stock integra ahah. This is a hatch so. So if i went turbo do you think i would need standalone engine management for just 8 to 10 psi.

you can get 200 all motor out a stock head ls, but nothing else is going to be stock and stock head i mean your going to use the stock head, you will need at least 12:1 compression, full valvetrain and head work done, some pretty meaty bumpsticks prob from crower, they make some mean non vtec cams. and then you will need to do some more tunning on that.... its possible anything is. Turbo is just going to be way easier and prob cheaper

No, a standalone is not a must with just 8-10 lbs.

ok well it seems like the general consensus is to go turbo. Well i think i better start saving up. Being 16 sucks when you need a lot of money.
