precision CEA turbos
Sounds more like the buyers wanted to believe something was different because they spent money. PTE started making their own billet wheels a few years back and they havent changed the design since. The turbine wheel is a bit thinner and lighter, but with the back to back tests I have seen comparing new vs old, the difference is minimal.
I don't believe at this point the 6768 is using a cea turbine yet. So it's still the same but called a cea. Damn, and I thought that I think to much on this stuff.
They actually changed the shaft in the center section to make it lighter but more durable. It is actually a better turbo than the previous precisions. My tuner told me this, and I believe him has has used precision old and new all plenty of 1000+hp builds and swears by the new precisions.
You are correct, they still use the old turbine wheel in the 6768.

is that a comparo of the CEA turbos to the older cast ones?

The shaft is technically "lighter" because of all the material they removed at the center hob of the turbine wheel itself. That's why you see a difference from the older model. But there can be drawbacks from removing too much material at the hub, which is hub fracture at 1600* temps mixed with 180,000rpm+speeds. But, what do I know....

haha just kiddin
