i got a guy here in Sioux Falls at Excessive Autosports that will put together a turbo kit for 3.5k for my 99 accord and will build the mainfold and intercooler piping, he said he'll make it look good too.he says ill run about 6-7 p.s.i. and he wants to use:
-a tial 38 mm wastegate
- small intercooler
-no specific blow off valve
-a precision sc-32 t3 turbo with 480 max h.p, and a 360 race bearing system,
go to http://www.precisionturbo.net/...=3026
(its the 4th or 5th one down)
-custom built manifold and intercooler piping
- fuel pump
-apexi vasf2 to control everything
and a boost gauge
-he'll do all the tuning on a dyno himself

is that a good setup? or not?
any suggestions would help!!!!!!!!

Re: possible turbo kit (hotaccord243)
For $3500 i would expect a better engine managament than just a afc2.
Why spend all that cash just to have a very limited piece blow your engine up.

"no specific BOV"- I'd want to know exact what kind of blow off valve im buying instead of getting some random one that i have no clue what it is.

larger injectors- for 6-7 psi 440cc

custom built manifold- make sure you take a look at other customers cars and the quality of work he does, and ask if they have had any problems with them.

intercooler- how small?? dimensions?

Re: possible turbo kit (hotaccord243)
Knowledge saves you alot of money. Read up on turbos and you will find that it is very easy to install. Tuning is a different question but for 3.5k you could buy all the parts of the turbo along with AEM EMS and still have enough to get it tuned. Do a search on turbo accord, there are lots of threads with nice setups outlined. Buy the parts, slap it on and drive it to a tuner.

Re: possible turbo kit (ChicoAccord2001)
-for the b.o.v. he suggested an HKS, and he would of course do larger injectors,
-i have seen others and some manifolds he has done and they are done well,
- the intercooler dimension are most likely 31.5"L x 8"Hx 3.5"D
that is all the information that i got from the guy
any more help would be great

Re: possible turbo kit (hotaccord243)
also the manifold would be a tubular, stainless steel manifold (full-race style)
and the intercooler piping is stainless steel as well
any more comments is more than appreciated

Re: possible turbo kit (hotaccord243)
tell him you want a better fuel manegement, flat out. If your going to have a turbo kit installed on your car, your not prepared to handle your engine blowing. Pay the difference if you have too, you seem to think this guy is a good guy!

almost as if your looking for a reason to say yes

Re: possible turbo kit (Si Shane)
then what type of fuel management would you suggest? a greddy emanage? or even better like a aem standalone?
any other suggestions would be great!
thanks again!

Re: possible turbo kit (hotaccord243)
Hey i didnt know you posted on here... the 3500 price is with all labor and parts... all stainless piping and parts and labor. Here is a post with some of my work... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1080999 does this not seem fair? i usually use tial BVs but its customers preferance. I dont know anybody that would do a kit with this caliber of parts for much less... Also i suggested the Aem ems as i live by them with almost 30 installed last year but told him we cam get by with a Afc to be more cost effective.
