Possible problem please look!!!
Just bought a turbo for my civic from a junkyard! i spun the turbine with my fingers and it spins fine but as soon as i stop spinning so does the turbine! i thought they was supposed to keep spinning??? is this right! by the way there is no shaft play! i think its a t3 a.r48
nah has none at all! has a tiny little hairline crack under the turbine where the downpipe bolts up but apart from that the rest is fine! might just be sticky from where it has'nt been used for a while!!!
ya they tend to loosen up once you use it. if you put a cap full of oil in the oil inlet and spin it with your funger it might get smoother and it should help keep it from sticking if your not going to install it for a while. It should have a little side to side play btw maybe the thickness of a businesss card depending on the turbo.

if i understand your problem right - you are confused the turbine and compressor wheel are affixed to a shaft they rotate together.

I believe he meant to say that when he stops spinning the wheel, it doesn't keep spinning on it's own, as if it were riding on some new ball bearings.
