Default possible blown engine?? need some advise!!

Hey guys, a few weeks ago i just got my drag kit for my civic hatch with a B18c motor. I was driving around all day today, and when i was letting my car idle, white smoke started to come out of the tailpipe. i shut off my engine then, and started it back up. No white smoke.... again, i went around the block for a bit, and no white smoke... But when i let the car idle for about 5 minutes, white smoke starts to come out. u guys think im burning coolant somewhere? The car idles fine, and its not throwing cels, or overheating. The internals are stock and is set at 7psi. i dont understand this problem... im gonna have to do a sompression test and check my plugs asap... any suggestions are greatly appreciated.. thanx guys

First suspect is probably head gasket; it may not begin leaking until the coolant is heated / pressurized or as the head heats up it may be warping slightly and allowing coolant to pass.

what i dont understand is that why the white smoke starts to come out after i let the car idle for approx. 5 minutes. When the white smoke starts to come out and i stop the engine, then start the engine again, the white smoke disappears.. weird stuff

if you do a leakdown, it will tell all. There is also this cool little tool that draws coolant out of the radiator. from there you add drops of this solution and it changes colors if you have any exhaust gas in your coolant passage ways. Is the turbo new, or did you buy it used? Maybe its useing oil. Sounds more like a fuel problem anyways. Just to rich at an idle....you are useing colder plugs right??? At least a set of 6's???

hey wassup ninesecrx.. u live in irvine? me too.. yea i did a compression check on my motor today.. everything checked out fine. Im using stock plugs right now, trying to find some NGK-bcpnr7es11's somewhere.... do u think dynamic might have them in stock? The turbo is used but recently rebuilt... maybe the spark plugs are the culprit behind all of this??

do a pressure test on ur coolant system... that will tell u if the coolant is leaking out anywhere... a leakdown would be good as well...

did u check ur oil? does it look normal? if it looks like some white creamy stuff... then ur coolant is mixing with ur oil
