Portflow vs. JG vs. ????
Okay here is the dealy.....I have this GSr head for my turbo setup. Going to boost prolly 26 psi.....Going to get port/polished, SS valves, Ti ratainers and dual valve springs, new seals. Where do I send it to? Do I get a local machine shop and get it port/polished and then install all the rest....or do I just say fud it and pay portflow or JG to build this thing. OR is there somewhere else that does good work? Thanks again....and agian-JAson

Dan Paramore, This dude was competing with JG back in the day, by the way, I haven't heard about him in a while. Is he still around? I remember when I was in the market for race heads for my customers he was always trying to win me over from JG, he was one of the first to say nasty things about JG. His heads were good I guess but at the time everyone was running very successful campaigns with JG hardware, so I followed, basically I am very happy with the work JG did on my head the car makes crazy power especially on the top end.
the JG head works well. The portflow heads are great if you wnat to go all motor. I am not sure if i seen one of ther turbo heads. But there all motor heads are trick.
Sorry I am not going to be too much help on your question but Damn... I can't even imagine boosting 26psi. I am only boosting about 7psi right now and my car is fast as hell. Way to go... [/QUOTE]
Hey man, I am prolly going to run about 12-14 on the steet and 26-30 on the track. Still a daily driver with a car seat strapped in the back to the roll cage. Thanks for everyones input. I have been hearing people talk bad about JG lately....but I think that I will try them out.
Thanks-Jason

JG is no longer JG as it used to be Since Edelbrock took over its been coming back to its orginal quality. The orginal JG heads back in pre 98 are the best
26-30 lbs!! You better get the best damn sleeves out there. That is a lot of boost man, if there is any weak link in your engine meaning you cut corners in any way, that thing is gonna go boom! Are you prepared to spend AT LEAST 15.000 d0llars??
the sleeves are no longer a issue its all about tuning with the standalone making the most pwr. !5k is just about right just for the motor and wiring of the ecu and tuning.
Shipping the block to get some Godzilla sleeves monday. I think that I am going to call portflow and find some info out. Going to run a Speed Pro. With some 1200cc RC injectors, fuel lines, pump, etc. This guy is a dealer for speed pro and I have been doing import swaps out of his shop. Tuning is hooked up.
portflow is a whole lot better than JG
