Default PLX M-300 Wiring Help

jdm p72 ecu

Running sensor in place of stock o2.

Wideband display will stay in car at all times.

Grey wire: d14
Black wire:A23
Red wire:Not sure I will have to test to find one.
Resistor: A6 to A25
caps: Not going to use them.

Is this right?

Mainly I am concerned with the wiring in of the resistor and grey wire.
Let me know how it sounds to some of you guys with similar setups.

Thanks,
98civic94gsr

sounds right to me. ill be doing the same install soon as well. luckily i dont have to worry bout the resistors. uberdata has my o2 heater disabled.

i dont think im gonna use the caps either but using your pinouts as an example it looks like plx is suggesting installing them between d14 and a23.

as far as the red power wire goes, there are a bunch of pins you could use on the ecu. check out the ecu thread and take your pick. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1171263

Anybody else ever wired up the resistor before? If so how did you do it?

Thanks again,

put the gray wire instead of the white one

Alright alright alright thanks a lot man.

Now if you could only tell me how to hook up the resistor I'll be all set.

Or anybody else for that matter.

Thanks a ton,

Just finished my M-300 install using the picture above, it worked well. except I kept my stock 02 aswell, i've read that you get better gas mileage using the stock 02 compared to the narrowband output from the wideband.

Alright all I need to figure out now is where to wire in the resistor.

I mean I know that the resistor goes between the 02 heater power wire and the 02 heater ground wire but what are their pinouts? I looked at tons of diagrams of pinouts to Katmans to the one at plxdevices.com.

None of them have a pinout(for my ecu p72) for the 02 heater power and 02 heater ground.

I think I remember seeing a guy just put the resistor between the two black wires on the stock narrowband wire harness.

Would this work to make a loop in the black wires like this?

My wire harness is a 4 wire with wire colors: white, 2-black, green.

Do you think that would work?

Let me know I'm almost thier,

Thanks again for the help guys,
98civic94gsr

Without hondatech I wouldn't have a jrsc hybrid coupe.
Without hondatech I would have a lot more money.

yeah im pretty sure you can just wire the resistor between the two black wiries on the stock narrowband harness. or im pretty sure you can use <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 98civic94gsr &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Resistor: A6 to A25

</TD></TR></TABLE>

i know a few people that have ran all the wires from the plx to an old narrowband harness and kind of made a quick disconect type thing for there wideband. i know plx suggests wiring close to the ecu but it would be sweet to have an OEM style connector if you every wanted to remove the wideband.

Well I ended up using a couple spots on the fuse panel inside the car for my ground and power wire. I tested multiple spots on my ecu wiring harness and none seemed to have any power to them, including a24 and d22.

I can't figure out why, key was on, and I had it grounded to the battery and to the chassis. And I know my voltmeter works.

Oh well when I turn my key on the wideband guage reads 14.70.

Is that what its suppose to do?

If I turn the radio on it flutuates a little going from about 14.60 to 14.70.

Oh well I can live with that.

Thanks guys and if something doesn't sound right let me know,
98civic94gsr

Oh yeah, I did go and get a resistor from radio shack, actually 2 10 ohm 10 watters.

I am going to just wire them in between the black wires on the stock o2 harness.

Thats exactly what i did. Except I did use the wires off of the ECU harness. I have an obd2 to obd1 jumper harness, so i just spliced into that instead. I didnt want to touch the stock ecu wires.

Alright scratch what I said earlier about it only flutuating a little bit. It just keeps going higher and higher until it reads "lean".

Why is it doing this?

Will it do it with the car started and warmed up or just off with the key on?

I can't start it to find out, not quite done with the jrsc install yet.

What is going on with this thing? Why is it flucuating so much?

Thanks

thats cause they are both grounds. abnaasefmb suggested using a25 for power, did you test that wire? its the battery positive from the main relay. it should have ignition power.

i know plx suggests wiring everything as close to the ecu as possible but im not sure of how much of a difference it really makes.

that sounds right. only reason i say that is cause i watched the demo video on the plx site and when the dude turned the key on in the s2k it was reading like 14.6 click here if you look closely you can see it flash 14.6 right before he hits the push start

hmm.. i dunno if thats normal or not. maybe someone that has already done the install can chime in. or call plx and ask.

Mine does it too. It is supposed to take about 45 seconds to warm up. During that time mine also reads 14.7ish give or take a tenth. It goes lean after that because without the car on the exhaust really is lean. It sounds like yours is working just fine.

I hope that helped.

Well alls I got left to do now is put some oil and anitfreeze in her and time it.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Hopefully another newbie like me will get some help off this thread someday.

Well I might as well ask one more ? because you guys are so helpful.

I have this little black box above the ecu and to the right of the glovebox. What is it and why all of the sudden is it make a very audible clicking noise?

If I unplug it, no noise. Well if anybody knows if its alright to keep it unplugged or what it does please let me know. Thanks.

It all happened when I moved the wire harness going to the black box. I didn't pull on it or anything like that. Just moved it around a little to fit my p72 in my civic a little better.

Thanks,
98civic94gsr
